Description
The Marvel Knights Black Panther series made me really sit up and take notice of the potential of T'Challa and Wakanda. Christopher Priest added so much to the mythos of what we recognize in the character today.

The opening arcs with Mark Texeira don't need me to wax poetic because they speak for themselves. When Sal Velluto took over art duties, he brought a completely different aesthetic to the book but never waivered in quality. There were some terrific stories in the latter part of this run that don't seem to get their due. In the process, Sal became the most prolific Black Panther artists ever while maintaining a regular monthly schedule.

I love this splash for many reasons (the details on the background! BP in action! Everett K Ross!!) but getting a peek of Achebe with his hand-puppet Daki sitting in a roller coaster is particularly bonkers fun!

I challenge anyone to find a better roller coaster page.  Fabulous splash from one of the best Marvel series of the past quarter century.

Lovely page - I have no connection to the series myself but I've been hankering for one ever since our pal Khalil got himself one. This one is a doozy!

I've been driving in my car
It went south to Florida
I rent it to visit Bill
Velluto’s artwork skill
E was driving sixty-nine
Watch the quality Almond line

He got coaster Black Panther
Umatilla home of Bill Thor
He drives it in to the swamp
The flooded floor, call Everett Ross
But he don't really scare
Give him some splash and Eranga’s there

Love the angles and the use of lines to make you get a sense of being on a roller coaster yourself when looking at it.. Looks awesome and congrats!

The work on the roller coaster is the absolute star of this show. 'Nuff said!

I share your love for that series and it generated for me a close following of Priest even since. Fun splash.

Gene Colan Approves! That dynamic angle Velluto used is so killer. The negative space in the middle giving depth while allowing the foreground and side details to pop. Subtly brilliant splash, imo. Ross is going to need some serious Dramamine. Congrats!

This reminds me of the bone-coaster level in Mario for the Wii-U. Jumping up to get that coin and trying to land back on the coaster. Good luck, BP!

Oh you KNOW I love this one.  Great example from the run, man.  BP doing' what he do, Everett, and Achebe...with puppet in tow!  Does really have it all, as you say!  Throw in some crazy perspective and movement with a ROLLER COASTER setting?!  Woo-wee, baby!

Just don't tread too far into BP territory, though, or...let's just not go there, OK?  And now I'm crossing my arms ;)

Congrats, brother!

Holy Moley! What a freaking cool image this is! Black Panther grabbing a guy who's just fallen off (been thrown off?) a roller coaster! Now that's a image I want to see in a Marvel movie! Anyway, great action scene by Sal Velluto, with beautiful inks by Bob Almond!

Oooh, boy, do I love this one!  Great balance of black and white, with the dip of the coaster tracks allowing a nice bit of open Bristol real estate for the flight of the Panther (as it were) to really land (so to speak).  Great details and visual texture from a game-changing, epic run!  Sincere congrats, E!  This one is SUPER-awesome!
