Description
Milton Caniff’s masterpiece, Terry and the Pirates, is perhaps the most influential action/adventure comic strip ever created [please feel free to debate that statement in the comments to bump me into one of next week's most talked about slots!]. After Caniff left the strip in 1946 to create Steve Canyon, he was succeeded by George Wunder. Under Wunder the strip continued for almost another 27 years. [Under Wunder - sorry, I had to do it.]

One item on my ultimate wish list would be a Caniff original from the series, as it takes me back to memories of reading some of the old collected strips with my WWII veteran grandfather. When Matt offered this later example from the series during an Amateur Dueling Dealers bout with Anthony a while back, I thought "why wouldn't I want one from both Caniff and Wunder to represent the run of the series?" I made a good call and feeling claimy was rewarded. It also helped that I was standing off screen in Matt’s living room. Thanks again Matt!

I've been Wunderin' fairly late
From Ol' George's Terry and with those Pirates
And it don't look like
I'll ever stop my Wunderin'

My Terry was an teenager
Pat Ryan made a pact
My gangster Dragon Lady
With the pirates on my back
And it don't look like
I'll ever stop my Wunderin'

I've been in to claim these
I've set my alarm
And all I've got on show is Matt's puppet on my arm
And it don't look like
I'll ever stop my Wunderin'

I suspect, nay, I know we all await the return of Mr. Handy!
