Description

19 x 24

Also used as HC collection Cover.

Was so excited when this cover popped up at Heritage last year. A major collecting regret was not scooping up another 100% cover that sat on ebay for a while at a more than reasonable price. This was a must win...A cover from one of my top favorite modern artists from my favorite book by him.

100% is hard to describe. It's a futuristic/Sci-fi story that follows a group of characters. To me it's really about the risks and fears of giving 100% of yourself to someone, something important to you. The acute pain from rejection or failure stops many from even trying.

Pope's world building in this book is tremendous. It feels real and deep as do the characters. Everything gives the reader the sense that there's much more out there than he's showing us through this story. Artistically, his deep and powerful brushwork immerses you in his vision.

The cover highlights the Daisy portion of the story. A dancer at the Gastro-pub, watchers see 100% of her physical body, inside and out with MRI technology. While she bares her body, she cannot bring herself to bare her heart to others.

So biblical. Congrats on locking down a piece of such importance. I'll bet it's a wonder in person!

Thanks, Chris. And of course I'm envious of your group of interiors which are basically impossible to get. I do hope one day the book gets the large format version it so deserves.

With five covers to this series, this one does take the most chance as Pope doesn't put a face on the front.  It shows in slices what the dystopia has reduced people into.  A commentary of how Pope was seeing where the world was headed.  In today's age, it raises the question if we can we truly show 100% of ourselves in this age of social media?  Does our pride prevent us from making a fool of ourselves with filters, anonymity, and a story only to appease others.  Or even worse, has it shown the worst of humanity to the applause of others?

Thanks for the thought inspiring comment, Marcus. For some reason, made me think of this scene from Contact: https://youtu.be/kVIPFZgO8VE?t=66

Marcus, your comments are always fantastic, but this is next-level: one of the best comments I've read on CAF.  Thank you for sharing your viewpoint and helping me see this piece in a very important way that I hadn't thought of previously.  Brilliant.
