DescriptionSo the execs at DC had a gathering of the minds and asked this question: “without overthinking it, quickly say whatever the most awesome thing you can think of that comes to mind first” and they all unanimously said “Batman riding a dragon!” And thus the story of the Dark Knights of Steel was born….At least I imagine that’s how it went. This series is really interesting, I encourage you to read it to find out how he comes to ride this dragon. The first issue has a really great hook that’ll make you want to keep reading. Dan Mora has become one of my favorite new artists and I’m thrilled to add this cover to my collection. If you look closely, Dan actually used his own fingerprints to shade some areas of the art; mostly down the dragon’s arms/wings and in the foreground with some of the flames. Social/Sharing |

Fits in with Mora's Once and Future series with adventure and fantasy elements. Great how Batman and the dragon have the same type of ferocity.

Great point, I enjoyed his Once and Future series too. He's got a knack for creatures, beasts, and monsters

Batman riding a dragon?? How could it get better than this? Love all this black to make them pop. Is it just me, or does that dragon seem like he's got a little bat DNA as well?

Good catch, some of those spikes DO look like bat ears!

What a mind-blowing idea--Batman riding a Dragon. I'm in and I haven't even read the book yet. Dan Mora's cover is a brilliant work that really brings the basic concept to life. Gorgeous layout, kick-ass inks. What more can any comic reader ask for?

Wow! So much energy, movement, depth...the whole 9. Love the face on the dragon, and the lighting on the riding Batman! I gotta get a Mora piece myself soon. Congrats!
