DescriptionBoy would I like to know who this is but - narrowed down to perhaps a Spanish, Italian Argentinian artist due to the stamp on the back( which I suspected when I saw it) if anyone has any ideas let me know .I've research this now and based on the stamp on the back and translation it looks to me to be Florenci Clavé - there is a surname which looks to be that and also looks to have originally done for Maribelle a UK weekly girls comic. They style around that time matchies as well. Love the loose background and figure work. This was part of Jim Baikie's collection. Baikie worked on Valentine in the late 60s. His style was a classic blend of British and European comic art and you get a real sense he was influenced by the Spanish, Italian and Argentinian artist who worked in British comics Social/Sharing |
