Justice League of America Entire Early Silver Age Team (2010) Fred Hembeck

With all the recent Hembeck love talk on CAF it reminded me of how much I remembered his work from the Daily Planet page of DC Comics during the Bronze Age and that I really should get an example of his artwork for my collection. But what character to choose to properly represent?

How about "all" of them? I came across this gem on eBay of the Justice League. What a grand representation of the scope of DC characters drawn by Hembeck! And what a nice reminder of a happy time!

I think my favorite aspect of this is the Flash running behind the team and waving with his speed trail following. But I love Superman centered (as he should be) smiling and waving, Green Lantern holding up his glowing power ring, Batman with tight fists and what qualifies as a Hembeck dour face, the Atom up close in front of the team waving and Hawman flying above them. Great stuff.

My only thought was that I'd really wished he'd worked in Black Canary but then I looked at the roll call and realized Hembeck chose the entire early silver age team. This artwork measures a large 11"x14". I'm really happy with this one!
