The Wake #1 p.4

Congrats on adding this amazing splash to your stellar collection! I was the original owner and I'm thrilled to see it on CAF again. This was such a great moment in the series and if I remember correctly it was the first peak at the monster and a really cool flash forward to the 2nd arch of the series. I love how Sean drew Leeward and Dash gliding off the page at the bottom.

Thanks George! I'm pleased to get your blessing. I always scan everything in high resolution so we all can appreciate these beauties. We share the best hobby, after all!  I read and loved the Wake issue by issue when it came out (My first horror comic, if I remember correctly), and I've been recently reminiscing through original art on CAF--and I forgot about this flash forward moment in issue #1 that starts off the series! The monster is almost hidden if you don't look close, foreshadowing what's to come. 

I really loved Sean's work on this book - it felt like his style really started to refine into what we know and love today...and this is one of the best pages from the book (in my opinion)

I agree! The linework was precise and his compositions really clean. Just replace Leeward with Batman and the water with moody Gotham to get the current White Knight design asthetic! Well maybe not quite but you get the idea... :)
