Description

It's time for the big 'man vs superman' showdown in this recreation of a climactic moment from the manga Akira. Note the detail on the bottom edge; all that cross-hatching and splatter makes the clouds of dust look great. The ruined arena in the background gives a sense of scale. Poggi, a former student of Matteo Scalera, inked directly over Coleman's pencils when the two collaborated on this commission for an American client a couple of owners before me.

This is the kind of composition we could have imagined for a Batman vs Superman shot in the movie or movie poster. Our viewpoint looks up at an impossible task to take this god down.
