Description

You've read a lot of graphic novels about the punk rock scene in Mexicali, right? No? Well, this one follows guitarist Beatriz, who finds a supernatural connection to her recently deceased grandfather when she plays guitar. On this page she's lost in the moment, playing a solo to the confusion of her bandmates. It's a wordless sequence, so the only difference in the published version is the addition of color. Pimienta created this music-themed graphic novel so he would have excuse to draw lots of electric guitars.

The flying fingers are the most striking aspect of this page. I've seen another manga page with something similar, though it sounds like a concept that probably has been thought of more than a few times.
