Description

Officer Ortega's son plays with a loaded gun, accidentally shooting his sister while his mother showers. Mister M, having seen the danger from afar, uses his powers of intangibility to enter the apartment -- seconds too late. The final two panels on page 22 gradually zoom in on the shocked expression on his face. Surprisingly for a Marvel Knights book, there's no blood in the final image, which tilts at a Dutch angle as if the POV is reeling from shock.

As compelling as the art and story are, I have a small nit to pick with the wall phone. Handles of that shape have no buttons. But that kind of phone cradle also has no buttons. So where are they? I do like the worm's eye rendering on the kitchen chair, though.
