Although unfamiliar with a lot of MTG art, this is something that I can definitely appreciate in the same exact vein as comic art. Of course we all know DWJ is awesome, and the imagery here is as well. Only further proof that MTG/ fantasy art is a world that is well worth exploring. Excellent piece Steve-O!

You can feel all the natural liveliness of the writhing and slithering in each tendril with how DWJ's inks so organically.  Wonderful creature design and it seems to have put that mask on only for our benefit.

Very powerful and evocative image! It somehow reminds me of the works by Italian sci-fi/fantasy artist Roberto Bonadimani (I have two pieces by him in my collection)

Man the creature design on this piece is AMAZING! I havent played MtG in years and years, but this makes me want to go get some cards. It's just so other worldly. It's got a vibe that seems new for Dan, yet is also familiar DWJ all at the same time. Such an awesome piece congratulations!

Awesome DWJ pick up, Steve, right in that special "sweet spot" intersection between comic art & artists and fantasy gaming: jackpot! Really like the thick lines in the foreground, tapering to the thinner lines to show the scale here and pull the viewer into the action.  I'm not sure if this creature is a terror to be feared or a benevolent being to be petitioned, but I'm certainly getting the "respect it, or else..." vibes coming off this here!  Another great DWJ pick up, Steve!  Congrats!
