DescriptionThat last panel says it all!Iconic '70s JLGL Batman. This whole page is filled with Neal Adams inspired poses, but done in classic JLGL style. That last panel looks like it was made for a poster, t-shirt, 7-eleven cup, toy merchandising, ...you name it. No wonder JLGL was hired by DC to create so much of their licensing art in later years. The perfect page for anyone who enjoys horny art or really great Batman poses. JLGL is a master at work here!

🤔 Now that you mention it, the guy I got this page from is a connoisseur of horny art! And also... who doesn't love JLGL?

This is one of the best Batman pages by any artist. The iconic Mask Adams Batman rooftop run, a middle border panel breaking Batman and Batman in every panel. Plus it is all JLGL. 👏.

I agree the whole page is fantastic. 5 panels with Batman and that middle panel alone is iconic enough. However, that last panel with JLGL's signature really pushes the page over the top!

Kind of corny story. But great Batman by JLGL !!!
I wholeheartedly agree that the story is corny which is a bit surprising to me since it was written by Denny O'Neil. The "unicorn" referred to actually resembles a centaur with a single horn on her head since there is a female character in the story who transforms (much like a werewolf) into a half-horse / half-woman with a horn. I'm thinking Denny phoned this one in to meet a deadline while still including some fantasy, action, and humor, but JLGL did not phone it in with the art duties.

Powerful and sleek Batman from 1979 when that kind of physique was seen as the pinnacle of human condition. Batman and the unicorn have to make way for that image by tilting the action back up towards the second panel.

Great Batman poses throughout the page. JLGL is a master at comic book storytelling, and his powers are certainly on display here.

That last panel.... just a gorgeous all-around page with a K-O at the end!

Denny thought it would be amusing to have a fictional character facing off with a mythical being. All that and Jose is never off-point.
Awesome.
