The Letter

16”x20” (frame 26”x30”) Painted in 2016; purchased in 2021. This is one of 10 paintings from Rain’s "Songs of Maldoror” solo show at Haven Art Gallery in Sep/Oct 2016. The exhibit was Rain’s first solo show at the gallery and was illustrating the novel of the same title, originally written in French as “Les Chants de Maldoror,” by writer Comte de Lautreamont, published in 1868-1869. Rain wrote on her website of this painting, “A dreamscape of an interaction aged by memory.”
