Description
Barry Windsor-Smith: Stalkin

Pathways To Fantasy v1 #1, 1984 - In addition to the shimmering cover, Barry Smith chronicles the tale of a wandering barbarian (This story could very well have taken place in Conan's Hyborian era) seeking revenge on the killers of his family. A lone wolf accompanies him without his consent. The sophisticated artwork works well with the narration and when no words are necessary.

Superb. This is as good as his work on Red Nails.

Once you figure out how he did the first panel by lingering on all that detail, the story flows fairly quickly into more standard camera angles.  So much strain and suffering seen on the face.  BWS puts that sword hilt right at the head to look like a crown in the last panel that looks like a drawing of Christ on the crucifix.

Wow.  I had the chance to buy this many years back, and regrettably I passed up on the chance.  An outstanding page.

I remembering finding this back issue at my local comic store and being so excited--a BWS story I had never seen before, gorgeously illustrated.  I've never seen a page of original art from it before--it does not disappoint!  Congrats!!
