Description

I thought that I should have an early image of Cookie, the Bumstead's daughter and second child, in my Blondie collection. This is the earliest original I have found to date which includes little Cookie, but it isn't much of an image of the baby. The characters' appearances in this strip are much closer to the images with which most people are familier, i.e., the drawing is looser and Blondie is less of a glamour girl and more of an American mom. The gag is also much more typical of the strip during the later years, long after the Hunger Strike and marriage were forgotten by most readers.
