Description

In the early 90s, Danzig asked Kaluta to do the cover to Black Aria, which would be a take on the battle of good and evil - heavily influenced by Milton's Paradise Lost. This cover by Michael Kaluta was perfect for that album. The angel and the demon have an intimate pose, until you see the knife being thrust into the demon's back. Brilliant.

This is the original cover. The color was added to a copy of this, which became the CD box cover. I prefer the line work myself.

This one is definitely part of my permanent collection.

It's got that great classical illustrative line that is operatic and has a weight to them. Every stroke is done to a controlled exactness for this precise moment.
