Undoubtedly THE definitive page in the books in regards of setting the tone and mood of the story. Impressive.
I remember seeing this at a booth of the French publisher asca WALL of the booth. Gotham became a character.... and Batman is so 100 % the guardian angel.

Fantastic design in the look of the living behemoth that is Gotham city. It is both decaying and thriving under the watchful eye of Batman. The composition with the foreground buildings from this camera angle creates a jagged canyon for the light to pour through.

I remember reaching out to Marini about it back when I first saw the image solicited. He told me it would go to auction someday and I'm happy to see that you ended up with it. Spectacular!

What a breathtakingly beautiful Batman DPS! Enrico Marini's illustration of the Gotham cityscape is gorgeous! I love the perspective and the sepia colors are stunning. Love the image of the Dark Knight standing alone on a gargoyle and looking out at the city he loves and protects. Brilliant pick-up!
