A page from one of my favorite comics of the 90’s, and one that highlights what a great visual storyteller Joe is.

Guy Gardner Warrior #3 is titled "In space, no one can hear you fight!” The comic has no dialogue, except for the last page when, after defeating the first of a series of aliens he has to battle, Guy says “NEXT!” The credits box states that writer Gerard Jones made "the easiest money any writer ever got away with.”

I’ve posted a few more scans of the dialogue-free story against the alien (who looks like Kilowog, but is not).

A scan of this page does not do it justice. It’s magnificent in person. I love the sequencing across these three vertical panels and Terry Beatty’s inks are beautiful (In my other post today, Joe pencils out nine horizontal panels).

This battle was part of a test set up by aliens who offer Guy - who stole Sinestro’s ring from Qward and is not part of the GL Corps here - a chance to set up his own intergalactic police force to compete with Hal . . . but first Guy has to defeat a bunch of alien bad guys.
