Description

Elsa Charretier and her partner Pierrick Colinet launched a Kickstarter for a mini graphic novel based on the 2021 Inktober word prompts, and one of the rewards included the original art for the book. It was a cool idea for Inktober, as well as an opportunity to finally pick up some original art from Elsa. Page selection was based on backer number, and I was near the end, so my selection was rather limited when it was my turn to pick a page.

Of the ones that were available to me, this one stood out because of the fun play on the "loop" prompt. It's a flashback to when the two main characters first meet, and their first lines to each other end with the same phrase (which feels like a conversational loop). And it also happens to be set at the location where the story starts, which creates a narrative loop.
