He broke his neck here? I can't see that definitively, but both of his arms certainly got mangled!

This is actually two pages after the neck break (see p.15 that I already posted). This is the 'double-talk' where Superman broke his neck just enough to not kill him, and then he rams into Superman here on p.17 with all his might (death by slamming into Superman),

Also there's the thing about Zod making it so that Earth had a red sun (which helped his powers and armor, but diminished Superman's and made him a prisoner, and somehow all the metahumans on the planet).

Coldcast (of Manchester Black's Elite) was one of the few that still had some power and would use it to 'juice' Superman with some yellow solar energy for the battle against this version of Zod and his army.

Meanwhile, Luthor, Ignition, Metallo and the other Superman baddies are out in space, undoing what Zod did to the sun in another battle (kinda like Lando to Luke in Return of the Jedi).

So the idea is the further the Zod Superman battle goes, the less super-powered Zod becomes and the MORE super-powered Superman becomes. So by this page, Zod's neck is somehow broken (but didn't kill him) and Superman's invulnerability is about 99% back to basics. So Zod is committing suicude by slamming into Superman (why he's screaming "No!!!")

I know it's dumb, but this was the conclusion/culmination of the armored Zod story I'd been following for almost 3 years in real time, so I still kind of ate it up, despite the goofball conclusion (which I guess since I keep buying pages from the issue, I have fond memories of regardless). I kind of want p, 14, 16, or 18 now. -_-

Damn.  That synopsis makes this sound like Hush to me.

I mean, Hush (story wise) is pretty silly to me, too, despite the critcal and popular acclaim. So I agree?

I appreciate all the detailed info, man! We've all read some pretty goofball stuff that we still enjoyed in spite of the nonsense. We shouldn't ever have to feel bad about it. We like what we like for whatever reasons we have and that's all that matters!

Zod is waaaay too into kneeling.  He should change things up and instead make people give him a slight bow.
