Description

Matt Allison was at Heroes this year and not only did I get to spend some time talking with him, I also picked up this color Wendigo commission. He absolutely killed it! The Cankor style comes through on the character, and the color choice besides the obvious red an white really adds to the finished piece. He perfectly captures the horror vibe of the character! I will go out of my way to also say that the Hellboy he did was outstanding. I can't state how much I love what Matt does, and getting to speak to him over the course of the weekend is something that I will always look forward to.

Big thanks to Cam and Matt for this beaut! Always a pleasure!

The brushwork is a highlight in all of Allison's works and how uniquely nightmarish he can make things look natural and organic. What stands out is the color. Looks like the white fur is dyed by blood under his mouth by being a carnivore consuming only other creatures for his entire life. It is both grotesque and beautiful.

Another great Allison commission! But, all I've ever seen are commissions. Does this guy even draw comics professionally or is he strictly a commission guy?

I saw this one in person at Heroes, among some of Matt's other color pieces, and was blow away! Such sublime work, as only Matt can bring, top to bottom. Congrats, T!
