Description

In the previous issue, Hulk went on a rampage which generated mass casualties in Manhattan. Here on panels 1 and 3, the survivors gather for a standing-room-only memorial service at what looks like NYC's Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Meanwhile on panels 2 and 4, Janet Pym is taken to the hospital, having been attacked by ants guided by her vengeful husband last issue. These hard-edged stories, while not translated directly on-screen, nevertheless formed the foundation of the modern Avengers seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This is great stuff. Millar's deconstruction further made the Ultimate line even more edgy and realistic for the audience in a post 9/11 world. The age of fear was upon us and what we feared now was each other.

Great example for the extreme datails and fine artwork from this groundbreaking maxi-series by this British writer/penciler/inker team. You should include the name of the writer, by the way.
