That middle panel is brilliant. Zaffino's work is, in my mind, in the same class as Bill Sienkiewicz or Sean Murphy. All three are able to create textures and moods with ink in a way that feels organic.

I remember this page --- so good! Love the staging, textures, and atmospherics. The middle panel is amazing

Like many of the artists you admire, they don't mind going over the borders to finish a brush stroke as each one is a pure expression of the energy and power that should be fully expressed at every opportunity. Anything short of that is stopping the true intention behind the line.

Beautiful work by Zaffino. Off the chart renders. Love how stoic this one feels! The propotions are also really interesting. Congrats!

That rendering of him in the cold, with the breath, in that second panel...so SO cool. Congrats!

Zaffino art is surprisingly hard to find! Well, maybe not so surprising with that incredible gritty style. That's a perfect page for the Cimmerian, standing battle-ready in the snow, as he does. Great art choices on the page, from that light wash to the detailed Conan. By Crom, you have a winner!

Whoaa! Gorgeous Conan page by Gerardo Zaffino. Love the extensive crosshatching and ink washes on Conan juxtaposed against the pure white of the snowy background. Light versus dark, love the contrast.
