Description
Absolutely delighted to pick this up! A great cover and a great homage to Jim Lee’s and Scott Williams’ Uncanny X-Men #268 cover, here featuring new character Rasputin IV.

--

[THEN] July 24, 2019 -- Following weeks of speculation, teaser ads, creator interviews and preview page reveals, House of X and Powers of X launched and was 12 weeks we'll never forget! [NOW] If you enjoyed HOXPOX and what followed, I have added dozens of new extras to the Additional Images of my collection to try to recapture a little bit of the excitement which surrounded this ground-breaking event, including some of the best teaser ads, tweets, Instagram posts, promo art, process images and script pages, as well as interviews with Jonathan Hickman, Pepe Larraz, RB Silva and Marte Gracia. Viva Krakoa!

---

"When two aggressive species share the same environment, evolution demands adaptation or dominance."

With this ominous announcement appearing in comics on 13 March 2019 we knew something big was coming. But what?!

A week later there was another one-pager which simply said "HICKMAN" and "JULY 2019". No more words were needed. Legendary writer Jonathan Hickman was involved and we had a launch date. Wild speculation followed!

A few days later, alongside stunning artwork by Mark Brooks (which became connecting variant covers for HOX#1 and POX#1) Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski announced at Marvel's Next Big Thing panel at C2E2 that Jonathan Hickman would be writing House of X and Powers of X, with Pepe Larraz illustrating House of X, R.B. Silva illustrating Powers of X, and Marte Gracia providing colours for both.

In an accompanying statement, Cebulski said, "We are excited to have Jon back with the Marvel family, and we could not have asked for a better creative team to help usher the X-Men into a whole new era. While we can’t reveal too much about the story just yet, these new stories will redefine the X-Men and their place in the Marvel Universe. This is a historic moment both new and passionate fans won’t want to miss.”

Yardin's definitely underrated IMO.  Great homage but an even greater piece of art in its own right!  Killer inks. Congrats!

Huge congrats on this historic and epic cover for something really awesome for the lives of the X people.  Beautiful cover that was utilized in lots of places.  Love seeing Rasputin IV getting more play.

I had no idea this cover even existed. Yardin did a superb job paying homage to the master while still making it his very own.

Fabulous House of X #1 cover by David Yardin. Delightful homage to the Uncanny X-Men #268 cover, but in this case featuring Cyclops, Wolverine and new character Rasputin IV. Beautifully drawn and artfully inked by Yardin, it's a great start to the new title. Congrats on the cool pick-up!
