DescriptionDay 08. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues!The first issue in the fourth story arc of the series "Rebel Jail". Following the Battle of Vrogas Vas, the rogue archaeologist Dr Chelli Lona Aphra breaks free of her magnetic binders aboard the rebel starship Volt Cobra. While Princess Leia Organa and several rebel troopers try to restrain Aphra, the Volt Cobra approaches the perimeter of the Sunspot Prison where the ship is bombarded by ion cannons. While Leia contacts the bridge, Aphra's estranged friend Sana Starros knocks Aphra out with a combat move. What else are friends for? You doing Star Wars is really great! Some beautiful imagery here with nice inks by the late, departed Gerry Alanguilan.

He was another legend in the field of comics, a strong advocate for the medium and artists, and was gone way to young at only 51. When Jiggy said he would be offering pages on behalf of the family, I wanted to be sure to add a couple of examples og his work in my collection.

Wasn't looking what I was buying

Yu came into my Chelli world
Lines of blue and cleansing wave
The Jedi and Starros hit me, Gerry
You were flowing through the inks
I'm addicted to blue
Hooked on your love
Leia's powerful stuff
I can't get enough of
Lost in your lines
Drowning in blue
Out of control
What can ink do

Marcus, your best comments not only manage to highlight the art, but also expose me to music I've not encountered before. And this song in particular is so appropriate for Sana Starros, Magna Tolvan, and all those who have a thing for Chelli Aphra.

I always love a good Dr. Aphra page. The first time I saw this I didn't even realize that it was a Leinil Francis Yu page. I was hoping to get one of his pages one day from Secret Invasion, but I am hoping for one on the cheaper side of things.
