Description

This is from the pulp Top-Notch, June 1935, and illustrates Robert E. Howard's tale "Hawk of the Hills." As far as I know, it's the only non-Weird Tales REH pulp cover still around.

The angular planes here make it feel a bit like a Leyendecker piece minus the rendering. Just a truly exciting image and really well put together!
