Description

A great Armor Wars crossover splash with Iron Man betraying Cap's (as The Captain) trust. This exact scene is played out in IM #228, although it's depicted much more dramatically when Cap's the main character!

This checks a bunch of boxes for me. I read both titles, so this storyline is quite nostalgic. And I do have a soft spot for both Cap & IM's mid 80s outfits. But more than that, this moment really establishes the two heroes' ideological differences. It's a theme that really got built up over the years, most notably in the Civil War books/movie.

Killer crossover splash! Dwyer and Milgrom get the most out of this dramatic scene with Iron Man having the upperhand in Cap's title!

Shocking, just shocking. Will Captain America triump in the end? Well this is Marvel so of course he will. But anyone opening up the comic to this splash would be sure to buy the comic. Congrats.
