Description

I was a fan of Mike Machlan's work on All Star Squadron and Infinity Incorporated, and later on his inks over John Byrne on Avengers West Coast. I am also a fan of Marvel's Golden Age heroes. So, when Jim Warden posted a handful of pin ups for sale of the Golden Age heroes by Machlan I jumped on the opportunity to buy a few of my favorites. When I purchased the pieces, I wasn't aware that Mike had passed away only a few months ago. But knowing that the proceeds of these pieces were going to his wife made the purchase even more special that it was going toward a good cause. Thank you, Jim, for making these available and for all the great things you continue to do in this hobby for many years.

The Destroyer was one of my favorite Golden Age Marvel heroes, I loved his appearances in the pages of the Invaders where I was first introduced to the character.

Excellent piece with a Kirby-esque feel.

Did not know Mike Machlan had passed away :(
