DescriptionASM 641 One Moment In Time, Chapter 4: Something Blue. The inspiration for the film Spider-Man: No Way Home.---- Update 8/14/2024: A year ago this art was lost by Fedex on its way to me. After a long search, I was informed by multiple supervisors that they were unable to find it, and I should just assume it was gone forever. Their search was "exhaustive" and in their experience with the amount of time it was missing, items are never recovered. I was explicitly told "lottery ticket odds." Ironically (considering the story), the year Peter and Mary Jane are finally brought back together in Ultimate Spider-Man, this cover was brought back to me. I don't know how, I don't know where it was all this time, I just know it's never leaving my possession going forward. It's funny that this is the book that actually made me move on from comics (admittedly I came back some years later). I was already on the way out after One More Day (I hear that was a common response). I poked back in when this came out and it cemented for me that this just wasn't for me anymore. With all that in mind, it must seem strange for me to say this is my favorite modern Spider-Man cover, period. It felt like such an appropriate and amazing send off for me as a reader. Spider-Man and Mary Jane embracing, holding on tight as they fade away with their marriage (and Earth 616's collective memory of Peter as Spidey). This is how I wanted to and chose to remember these characters who meant so much to me (and others) for so many years. This cover is just beautiful and I can't help but have an emotional response every time I look at it. Thinking back, the relationship of Peter and MJ was such an influence on me at such a young age it probably put me on the road to marrying an outgoing and confident redhead from NYC. Social/Sharing |

I've had a lot of issues with FedEx over the last year. Really nervous about some other art they'll be transporting in the next few weeks :/

Hope so. It made it one step away from me (to the sorting facility 15 minutes away) and was immediately loaded on the wrong truck and sent back in the direction it came from.
The folks at the local facility were much more helpful than the standard support line, but it ended up as a "you will know when we find it" sort of situation.

I appreciate the sentiments. I was given one last sliver of hope a few minutes ago so we'll see, but I'm not holding my breath. Super bummer. Checking my fedex tracking this month felt like watching a museum burn down.

I'm so so sorry. You can reach out to Paolo and ask if he would be willing do a recreation of it? Even lightbox it to be exactly the same since it seems the Original is gone. Obviously, it would be listed as a recreation somewhere on it (I assume... I do not have any recreations). Once again, my condolences go out to you. 🙏
Also, what has FedEx even said about them losing it? I pray the insurance process is not a pain.

Maybe one day I'll talk to Paolo about it. It feels better to just have days where I forget about it then have a recreation that reminds me it's still missing.
Luckily it was insured but Fedex was absolutely useless throughout the whole ordeal.

They say "all's well that ends well" but I bet they never had a piece or original art go missing for a year! Man, I am beyond excited that this finally, miraculously found its way home. I can't imagine the relief and joy having this in your hands must bring. If only these boxes could talk!

They did not. They just reached out to the shipper a few weeks ago and essentially said "Hey, so we have this thing in our facility with no tracking information, what should we do with it?" I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Just wish we didn't use Fedex Next Year delivery XD
Most people don't know the Coles Phillips inspiration. The first image I ever saw by Phillips was a very similar blue of a woman in a spiderweb. It's immediately what I thought of when I saw this. Good catch ;)

Thank you, Jonathan! Fedex never contacted me. They contacted the sender once they found it and asked if they should continue the delivery. He had them send it back to him because he wanted to examine it and we needed to sort everything out with his insurance. I ended up getting it about two weeks after it was found. Had to keep it a secret though until Paolo made his announcement on Insta ;)

Thanks, Steve! Sorry, I missed your comment somehow. The dealer put in the claim, and when Fedex out of the blue contacted him to let them know they found it, I needed to pay the insurance company back to have the piece released to me.
