Description

A true rarity, original artwork by Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back costume designer John Mollo (1931 – 2017) almost never comes to market. The winner of both the 1978 Academy Award and Saturn Award for his costume designs for Episode IV, in this sketch Mollo illustrated Ben Kenobi in his original A New Hope garb, just as he originally designed the costume for Sir Alec Guinness for the first film. It is drawn onto the title page of Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy. The book is an oversized hardback (9.75 by 13.25 inches and 1.25 inches thick) and weighs just over four pounds. Please note- the sketch is real. It is an actual, original sketch drawn by hand by Mollo. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original piece of art featuring one of the designs for which Mollo won the coveted Oscar for Best Costume Design. The book is also signed by the author, Brandon Alinger, who also wrote “May the Force Be With You.” In excellent and unread condition with only minor storage wear, the book will be shipped with the utmost care.
