Description

PERRY RHODAN #1730 (Original Cover Art) - Johnny Bruck (* March 22, 1921; † October 6, 1995).

Great piece from Johnny Bruck from his later creative phase. Inspired from the accident with his Vespa scooter in 1994 he signed this painting with the pseudonym 'Johnny Crash'. This signature can be found on the German PERRY RHODAN editions #1730 - 1733, #1735 und #1737.

PR #1730 was published on October 20, 1994 with the title 'Der Verbündete' (The Ally).

Gouache on illustration board. Roughly 14 x 20 in.

It does resemble a fiery escape from a wreck! You can tone down the volume in everything and see in essence his ordeal. A motorcycle helmet, riding suit, and a destroyed motorcycle can be seen underneath the sci-fi motifs added.
