Description
MARS Patrol was a Dell comic published from 1966-1969 (ten issues). The first two issues were titled Total War. Wally Wood drew the earliest stories,Joe Certa also had a hand in the art, and then Mike Roy (who I don't think is the same person as Mike Royer) took over for the remainder of the run.

The story: Humanoid invaders from outer space have invaded earth, their mission a slowly unfolding mystery. (The invaders want our planet's resources, and will only tolerate humans as slaves.) Fighting them is the M.A.R.S. (Marine Attack Rescue Service) Patrol of the U.S. Marine Corps. The comic focuses on one team, composed of Lt. Cy Adams, leader and combat pilot; Corporal Russ Stacey, weapons expert and commando; Sgt. Joe Stryker, demolitions expert and paratrooper; and Sgt Ken Hiro, frogman and skilled martial artist. The team is unusual for a mid-1960's comic in that it's ethnically diverse, with two European-Americans, Adams and Stacy, Stryker an African-American, and Hiro an Asian-American.

I don't think this page (large art) was published.

It's a shame it wasn't. I want to know if they escaped.
