Description

David Williams has a unique style that is ALL comic book. I'm a huge fan of his b&w art but he's been really killing it on colors lately. While not normally a Dr. Strange collector, this piece really struck me for the skill with which it's executed.

The way he depicted the astral projection was the clincher for me. It's a great reminder that while digital color and effects are great tools for artists and comics, there are still people out there who can find creative ways to do similar things with traditional tools.

I like the subtle stuff happening in the cape and tunic due to the underpainting. The astral effect is very nice and clever to boot.

Fantastic. I love the use of horizontality and as you pointed out, the astral plane effect is exceptional.

Wonderfully designed. For those who might just dismiss this as a big cape piece, there's so much going on within those wind blown folds. And the profile shot makes his hand gestures even more elegant.

Fabulous Doctor Strange commission by David Williams. Interesting that Strange is gesturing magically towards a light source we can't see. His cape is being blown back as if from some unknown magical power thrown his way! Beautifully drawn and artfully painted.
