DescriptionHappy Batman Day!1986 was a great year. It was also the year Batman 402 came out when I fell in love with Starlin's long-eared rendition of Batman. Since then, I have continued to love it and have considered it somewhat underrated compared to his other famous character renditions. Here is the last page of the comic book, in which Batman punches out the lights of his imposter/ doppelganger. The fourth panel is the money shot. Social/Sharing |

The imposter was just trying to be Batman on Batman Day, but he took viligante ways over the line requiring an interventon. The level of respect for Robin is shown with his main contribution to be a distraction. Knockout climax!

Statlin's work on his Batman's run is superlative. You are very true! This page is a PERFECT example of that. Colossal! I love it.

Funny I agree 100% with you. This is my all-time favorite version of Batman. His almost whimsical version of Batman just appeals so much to me. I was a fan of Starlin before this comic came out but this was my introduction to his version of Batman. I later found out he also drew Batman a few times before this but this is my favorite Batman issue of all time!
His Batman is my ultimate favorite followed by Hulk then Captain Marvel. I'm fortunate I also own a page from this issue.
