How cruel of Pete and Miles to forget about Bailey! Bailey should just ditch them and team up with Rek-Rap
Haha that would be a GREAT team-up!! I'd definitely read that.
Bagley and Spidey are like choclate and peanut butter. So great together!
Wow! Wow! Wow! You really landed a big one here, Paul! The first appearance of Spider-Boy! What's more, it's beautifully penciled and lovingly inked by Mark Bagley and Andrew Hennessy! (Or as I like to think of them--Pencil-Boy and Ink-Boy!) Two thumbs up!
What a historic and amazing page Paul! Congrats!
Modern royalty!
Incredible, historic page Paul! Big congrats! Nobody deserves this page in their collection more than you, the Spider-verses biggest fan.
Such kind words, thank you so much! As a Spider-verse fan, yeah, this one is ultra special to me.
The return of Bagleyman! You got yourself such a great and historic page. You forgot to tell us how you acquired it. Congrats on adding this to the collection!!!
Showstopper!
I guess you got this from Nick? I remember all the pages he showed, one by one. This is pretty darn cool, I'm not gonna lie. Huge congratulations!
What a great debut and fans naturally rallied behind Spider-Boy to make him as popular as he is now! Don't forget that this is after months of people whining and complaining about too many variants of Spider-Man that didn't match what they wanted because "reasons".
But then again... they can hold on to the belief that the sales from the show were fake so they can hold on to those "reasons".
Ah well, haters gonna hate. As you pointed out, most comic book fans get jazzed and rally around exciting new characters like Spider-Boy and enjoy the ride. Isn't life more fun that way?
And seriously, do some people still think those show sales were fake? As someone who bought six pages from Spider-Man #7 that day (and this splash a few days later), and spent the next two months paying everything off, I'm here to tell the community they were very real.
Thanks for the comment, Marcus! Life is definitely more fun with YOU in the community. :-)
fantastic addition and an epic page! Certainly in the hands of the right collector!
Congrats with this historic page! Mark Bagley, Spider-Boy, splash page, what is not to love about this page, just perfect!
It is very nice to see the young guns landing on Marvel Universe! Fiest appearance pages always are very special!!! This is not an exception!!! Congrats Paul!!!
Baller.
This fits perfectly in your collection!
Awesome, awesome, awesome
I managed to snag the page after, but it doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of this pick-up - so glad it ended up in the right collection!
Thank you so much for the comment! And congrats on grabbing the page afterwards! I remember thinking during the show that that was a very smart (and much less expensive) way to still own a fantastic slice of Spider-Boy history. And since you got that one, I had to decide whether to get the 1st appearance splash a few days later. Nick was so great to work with and helped me feel comfortable taking the plunge. I love the Spider-Verse! :-)
While the most important part of this page is Spider-Boy appearing for the FIRST TIME, this would be great if it was just a splash! But the way Bagley and Hennessey drew the Spider-beings obove in the panel, and so many of them, and then Spider-Boy appearing in the next panel, and then finally "Ta-Da" is genius! But the cherry on top? The little burst of his face in that no one knows who he is. One of the ALL TIME best Bagley pages, and it's the perfect collection! Congrats Paul!
That's a whole lot of Spidey greatness all on one page. Big congrats for this one!
Many congratulations, Paul, on a splendid and ground-breaking piece of artwork! As a fellow "fake buyer" from that issue, I am proud to post this very real comment!
Great piece of Spidey history and a really fun character reveal, congrats!
How can anyone NOT like this character? His costume looks like Guardian's "half maple leaf" look, which kicks ass! But then again, this post isn't even real, so I'm actually typing this fake message for nothing!
Everyone loves Spider-Boy! And yeah, we really have become a society of conspiracy theories haven't we, but I assure you, this piece is as real as the annoying age spots on both sides of my face. Seriously, it's getting be like 'connect the dots' up in there.
Bailey will do anything to slack off on his duty but just wait until Sergeant Snorkel finds out he's gone awol.
We spoke about this page when you bought it, but seeing it in your CAF gallery makes me happy for you all over again. Congrats on what is undoubtedly one of the best grails in your collection!
Thanks aso much, Steve! I'm pretty freakin' happy myself! :-)
Another incredible first appearance page !! Congrats !
I enjoy looking at your spider-man museum. Such prime examples
Big congrats, Paul! The arrival of another Spidey...do they get old? Nosirree! Right when I looked at the B&W art, particularly Bailey's mask, I couldn't help but think about the first Ultimate Spidey issues - costume with no webbing an a lanky kid :) But when you check out the color art, that all changes! And you gotta keep the first and last name starting withe same letter going, right?! Great stuff, Paul!
Such a great historic Birth page...and...a great addition to your fabulous collection. Congrats my friend.
Wow such a cool birth page and you get all those Spider-verse characters to! Congrats on another special addition to your personal comic art museum!
