X-Factor #244 pg 16 (Leonard Kirk pencils and Peter David story) - Banshee II deciding to take place of Morrigan

Consecutive page to my pg 15, from Breaking Points Day 4, which wrapped up storylines for characters in this initial ending to a long run 2012/2013.

This beautifully done Leonard Kirk page features a hard hitting character piece of Theresa Cassidy aka Banshee II (formerly known as Siryn) deciding to take the place of this Morrigan to get a favor and save Lorna Dane (Polaris) from further loosing her grip on sanity. For me there is a lot of great character work and design, especially on this Morrigan. The top panel shows some of the once lost humanity in this Spirit (left side of face), with great lightning design to showcase her spirit side on right side of her face. The careful framing of the rain lines, lightning around her and her raven in every panel is so well done. In a storyline where this Morrigan doesn’t want to put up a fight to change hands for both the curse and power she holds, she is tired and ready to move on. The middle left panel shows some effective tears in the rain, no one can see you cry in the rain, except here perhaps as it is highlighted just enough differently as the tears crawl down her face. The heavy rain is exquisite and really gets you into the mood of this scene, the back and forth silhouetted lighting design adds to the flavor and the panel designs create a cinematic backdrop to an overall really dramatic scene.
