"A" is for Awesome
Yup, these splash reveals, especially end pagers, straight bangers, and this is no exception! Love how he's emerging from the shadows. You know the Ultimate X-folk are going to be up against it. And Apoc...one of the best designs ever. And here, I don't know if the belt "A" can get any bigger and I love it :) Congrats, Paul!
I remember this one well. It's as powerful now as the first time I saw it.
He tilts his head to contemplate how to end you!
A powerful and contemplative Apocalypse can be terrifying, great splash!
Powerful and Imposing!!Luv the Cross-Hatch line Work!!
It is a very impressive piece. This artwork is superbly penciled and inked! You only have to look at the cape! I agree with Dino... Apocalypse coming from the shades is terryfing!
With Bendis, Millar, and BKV and other fresh new writing talent, The Ultimate Universe was where it was at! Those guys shaped comics as we see them now and Millar branches out to other media as well. Peterson redesign makes sense and Apocalypse looks every bit, if not more, the greatest villain for the X-Men.
Awesome
Powerful and thick. Excellent!
Ultimate Apocalypse needs his Ultimate Belt. KRAKA-BELT! I'm a big fan of these splashy, first appearances, too. And thanks for making me feel old, who doesn't love that in the morning! 😉 Love the light source work here, too. Very cool first appearance, snag, Paul. Apocalyptic!
Yeah, the poor guy is racked with indecisiveness. He couldn't figure out which belt to wear that day, so he went with all three. Then he slapped an "A" on it for good measure, just to make it seem like a fashion choice. But all that aside, the most important thing to note is ... we're not old, dammit!
I never read the title, but this image is so impressive that I guess I will l have to give it a try. Terrific inking and use of shadows. Congrats!
Yes this was a great reveal from a really top notch series of artists and writers. Congrats on this beauty!
Awesome. Congrats on scoring this one. I circled it a few times myself. Looks like old Apocalypse has gone to a more than worthy home!
Nice lighting and line art by Peterson! Congratulations on another first appearance page. So this is his literal birth page in the ultimate universe? He didn't cameo in the previous issue? By the way, Apocalypse clearly hasn't been working out as hard as you and I have, as can be seen by the fact that he needs not one, not even two, but THREE belts just to hold up his pants! Wait, does that mean you and I are qualified to become superheroes now?!? I think it does!
Ya know, I believe it does! Thank you for the comment my friend. Brought a smile and a chuckle 🤭
Sooooooooooooooo Awesome! Congrats Paul!
Man, the more I look at this, the more it hits me how awesome this page is! What a splash!
As big a character as Apocalypse is I am surprised they didn't go with a DPS here. Either way though this is a great acquisition!!!
Very cool!
Huuuuuge! GReat splash of an iconic villain.
Powerful image of a powerful villain!
