Description

Here is a cool Toth piece done in 1986 for Secret Agent Corrigan (X-9) reprints that were done for the Dragon Lady press. The Dragon Lady press played a very important role in its early reprinting of comic strips and helped to keep them from fading into obscurity. My friend John Biernat was the owner and this piece comes to me from his collections. Inks and colors all original as is the title. It was framed and you can see where the was fading of the colors as compared to the parts that were covered. I doubt there will be more fading with time but what is done is done.

It always struck me as odd that John didn't get Williamson himself to do the new covers for these reprints, but what an amazing coup to get a genius, graphic stylist like Alex Toth in his place!

When this magazine came out it was one of the very few places to be able to find Al Williamson's SECRET AGENT X-9.
