21x17 joined bristol boards, inks over pencils

Warren Worthington III, the high-flying Angel(!), gets a solo issue of the second volume X-Men: First Class. He's trying to find his missing aunt but that's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack that's made out of gigantic waterfalls.

I liked the sense of scale that Roger Cruz created in this spread. Warren's just a small figure against a big backdrop of cliffs and waterfalls. He might not have the most interesting power, at least until he gets his big angsty Archangel upgrade in the X-Factor years, but he does initially get to see things from a perspective that the rest of the first class doesn't.

Cruz uses nice clean lines and plenty of detail on this wilderness scene.
