Description
This page from Nova (Vol. 4) #11, released March 12, 2008, depicts the Summoning Spire. Its sole purpose is to summon a mature Technarch known as a Siredam. The structure plays a key role in Nova’s battle against the transmode virus, as the arrival of the Siredam marks Warlock’s change of heart and his decision to cure Nova.

Completed by the same creative team behind the early issues of Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol. 2), this page showcases their ability to visually and narratively integrate Drax and Gamora into the cosmic architecture of Kvch. The composition and tone reflect the emerging style that would define the modern Guardians of the Galaxy era.

11x17 Marvel comic art board.

After seeing this I feel you should be shaking peoples hands and passing out cigars while receiving lots of pats on the back.

I am guessing I need to either thank the academy, or get ready to discuss lamaze classes.

OK, got it.

No, I don't, actually.

But that's OK!  This art looks great!  You KNOW that Paul had some legit work to do here, and Rick absolutely did as well - just check them inks out!  Congrats, Ian!

Ya, I am not sure I perfectly got it either. Although you can substitute Kool-Aid for the Borg, or Matrix and it works as well. Tang is just fighting assimilation. Also along the way he met Cosmo. Paul and Rick did an exceptional job with this and funny enough, it wasn't until an hour into posting this that I saw Gamora and Drax in the spire. I love complex artistry with hidden undertones. Missed it at the time of purchase, but knew what was going on. Thus, love this that much more.

Old Groot deals of Technarcy
Worldmind for the Nova please
Sweet Spire calling
"You can't deny team
Now you know transmode v"
Now you know that Drax is dim
Drink Kool Aid spire, escape grief
Lanning wrote sweet spire
Babel of cootie release

"Come with me
I know the page" she says
"It's down, down, down the Pelletier
Do you want to Abnett somebody first?
Leave someone Gamora?
You can come now
Or you can come Magyar"

Escape grief really shows up later in the theme of the story when Gamora is distraught having been spereated from the transmode virus. Her longing for taking the blue pill is a theme of the era. However, I love that her desire for it is twisted with pain. She desires to numb the pain with assimilation. Oh, sweet spire I hear you calling. Thank you Pelletier. Thank you Magyar.

Does this mean I get to post this in the next round of tentacles. Oh, sweet tendrils. I see you reaching for a purpose. May the purpose be as distrubing as it is beautiful.

I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Brooklyn on Friday night, and Bernie Taupin was one of the inductees.  I was very disappointed that they made no mention of his writing contribution to "We Built This City."  I'm glad to see that classic get some attention here.  Very cool looking splash!
