DescriptionAs promised, here is the 2nd page recreation I commissioned from Jeff Aclin. The details are below!Back in 1978 I ran across 2 issues of the comic book Marvel Team-Up that just captivated me with both story and art. It was Marvel Team-Up #76 and #77, written by Chris Claremont with layouts by Howard Chaykin, finished pencils by Jeff Aclin and inks by Juan Ortiz. Great book showing Spider-Man and Dr. Strange teaming up against some magical baddie called the Silver Dagger! When Strange is injured mid-story, Ms. Marvel shows up to help and subsequently teams up with Spidey in Team-Up #77. I had always wanted to own a page or two from these books but was never able to find them. In 2018, Jeff Aclin, former Marvel artist, decided to sell some art and I bought 3 of his Marvel UK pages. Come to find out, he was doing page re-creations of his old pages and I asked him to do this one and one other I posted yesterday. Luckily, he had saved copies of the original pencils, so it is pretty close to what the original looked like. Just a couple of small differences on this page, like the disappearance of the small house behind Ms. Marvel in the 1st and 2nd panels. Interestingly enough, Jeff and I had a nice email conversation where he told me one of his strengths was imitating other artists styles. That was one of the reasons Jeff did many of the splash pages for Marvel UK books. At the time, they were all reprints and the stories were broken into several parts to fit the format. Since it was important to maintain the original artists style, Jeff would do a splash/ recap page in their style for continuity purposes. He also ghost penciled the Spider-Man newspaper strip for John Romita from December 1978 to November 1979. Social/Sharing |

Excellent! It really does still retain the feel of an original piece fro mthe 1970's, due primarily to Aclin's rendering style.

Great feathery touch! It's not line for line as Aclin adds his own special flair to the page for more action and tension.
