So I saw this page on Comiclink. Wonder Wart-Hog vs. the Pie Man ... and I'm pretty sure that's Lyndon Johnson there in panel 3, who was president at the time and a fellow Texan to cartoonist Gilbert Shelton. Always happy to get another piece of Shelton art!

It's timeless, showing political mud slinging has devolved into crud slinging. Today, it's even more chaotic with open warfare within the same political party!
