OMG! What a powerful portrait of Captain Marvel by the great Mike Deodato. I love the way Mike drew Shazam like a statue of a Greek God, powerfully standing amidst lighting shooting across the sky. When you think about it, Captain Marvel and Superman and the rest are our modern day equivalent of Greek Gods. Like the Gods, they possess powers that raise their status above mere mortals. Instead of Zeus, we have Superman, instead of Hercules, we have Shazam, instead of Mercury we have the Flash, instead of Athena, we have Woman Woman. And like the Greek Gods, we tell stories about them to amuse ourselves. So Mmike Deodato's portrayal of Captain Marvel is totally appropriate.
