DescriptionThis delightfully pulpy series takes place on a tropical island lost to time, on which lizard men, samurais, pirates, and WW2 soldiers all have their own settlements. A modern boy and girl get transported there and separated. On this spread, the boy (covering his head in the lower left corner) explores the pirate village for his lost sister. Bradshaw attacked this series with gusto, putting Art Adams-level detail into every page. 57 figures populate this image, with representatives from each of the island's human societies going about their own business. It's a veritable "Where's Waldo" of details, including one pirate hiding a pistol behind his back for an incipient assassination. Find the conquistador, the musketeer, and Indiana Jones, if you can. A beached galleon in the upper right has become part of the landscape. The image is on two sheets of Bristol board with combined dimensions of 19"x24", too large for even my largest portfolio, so I framed and hung it. It's not technically a splash due to the small inset panel on the right, but it's close enough. Social/Sharing |

It's the level of controlled discipline that Bradshaw puts in that is even more impressive. Slightly different pen and line weight for every level of depth here while still hitting the high notes to lead the eye.

Takes a few minutes to take in all the details and intricacies on this amazing piece of work. Killer grab. Congrats

Incredible DPS! So dense in detail, but you can clearly see all the objects.
