Milton Caniff- Terry and the Pirates - 13 June 1936

I was fortunate to have been able to assemble four (4) consecutive Caniff dailies from Terry and the Pirates. This was the story that introduced Burma to the strip where she would be a recurring character.

In this story, Terry, Pat, and Burma arrive on what they thought was a deserted island only to find a plantation had been built. After Pat spurned Burma's affections, she goes after the wealthy landowner... who is oblivious to the fact that Burma is making his wife jealous.

In this daily, the last of four, Burma and Wingate return from a sail around the island. Wingate seems perturbed that Wendy is not there waiting when she comes downstairs stunning the group... with a pleased Pat looking on
