DescriptionHad the great pleasure of hosting a visit from one of my newer CAF friends yesterday. Ian Saint made the 90-plus minute drive from his home to meet with me. We had a wonderful visit, some nice long chats, and of course going through a few piles of artwork. Obviously you are not required to bring gifts just to come and visit me, but I am always delighted to be surprised by the kindness of others.
About the gift. I am embarrassed to admit that I actually collect these silly things. But of course there was no way Ian could know that. Also, there was no way he could have possibly known that UP is one of my favorite Pixar films. Then again, I did metnion above that he was something of an amateur detective, so maybe he knows a lot more about me than he lets on. Haha! Anyway, I was going to post my annual holiday greeting to everyone today, but I just thought it would be nice to acknowledge Ian’s thoughtfulness and generosity instead. I’ll do my holiday thing tomorrow. Thanks so much Ian! Hope to have you visit again soon to finish what we started. Social/Sharing |

I don't collect the toys but Up is one of the greatest films of the 22st century. When my wife and I went to see it when it first came out, the whole Audience was in tears after the first ten minutes. All grown ups too! Nice story

The opening sequence with Carl and Ellie's childhood and romance is some of the most powerful, emotional, and beautiful storytelling I have ever seen in an animated film or ANY film. That portion of the film alone would have been worth the price of admission.

Such kind words and they are equally returned. Thank you for being such a gracious host. Your knowledge and stories made it such a fun experience. I look forward to the next time we meet. P.S. Squirrel!!!
