Raw is right. So much energy and power coming off this incredible (sorry, couldn't help it) image. Looks like Christmas came early for you buddy. Happy Holidays!
I usually find Davis's art too slick. But have never seen pencils only before. This is 1000% better. Just a fabulous image and beautiful rendering! Congrats!!
Thanks! I struggled when deciding to keep my commission pencils only or to get Farmer inks and decided to get it inked. I wasn't looking for a penciled piece but knew I had to have this when I saw it as I fell in love with the pencils immediately!
Love that contrast of ferocious vs. joyous!
Thanks Steve - I agree and it really fits the story so well.
Well, it is totally awesome so I'd say the title is apt! Bit on the nose, but all the better for it! Gotta love the dichotomy of how little and happy the human figure is vs how big and raging the green guy is! Alan Davis does it again. Congras, Dave!
Wow, can pencil work get any better? The scale of Hulk is fully realized on this cover. Totally awesome is an understatement! Congrats JG!!
Hulk barely fits on the cover. Love it! His pencil work is, well incredible. I am jealous you got to this one before me.
Congrats Dave! This is fantastic! The emotions and action are conveyed perfectly.
Such an intriguing and beautifully penciled cover! You get the sense that Amadeus wants to be free to run joyfully around, but the Hulk might have other plans.
Thanks Paul! That's actually Hulk and Banner, inbthebissue Cho figures out a way to remove gamma radiation from Bruce which has him inbthat joyful state (albeit shortly lived). It's a fun read!
Oops! I should have read your description more carefully. So yeah, the Hulk is looming over Bruce, saying "Not so fast!"
Hulk and Bruce by Davis, what's not to love!
A mighty Alan Davis cover that puts you on the edge of your seat to wonder what happens next! Hulk's anger and power radiates outward while the inner self runs so carefree.
Fantastic pencil work full of life and energy from the poses to the expressions.
Davis can do no wrong.
Such an amazing cover and a gem of a find. Thrilled you added it to the collection - huge congrats gammabro!
Thanks gammabro. I have no idea how this cover lasted in the wild before landing in one ofnour collections.
This is a beautiful cover.
I almost like the drawing a Bruce more then the image of the Hulk. ( which is also an INCREDIBLE drawing !)
Davis is capturing just how liberated Bruce is feeling now that he is free of the Hulk.
Congrats on another amazing addition to your collection !
Fascinating pencil by Alan Davis for the cover to the Totally Awesome Hulk #7. It's a beautiful drawing of a massive Hulk running behind a young man who is happily running. The Hulk doesn't seem to be chasing him. The young man doesn't seem to be running away. So is the boy Bruce Banner? Is he free from the Hulk at last? Guess I'm curious enough to go out and buy the issue at my local comic book store. And isn't that what covers are supposed to make us do?
So Awesome!
