Description

As his profile continues to rise quickly at cons, on commissions, and drawing covers, I was very fortunate to add Eranga-D to the 2023 class of cover recreations. I've also been fortunate to further develop my friendship with Eranga this year.

While staying true to the original, masterfully executing the image of Wolverine, Eranga added amazing touches across the lighting on Wolverine (and the garbage can), ink wash signs, corner box, negative space to depict Wolvie's claws. Great stuff across the board.

Much gratitude to Eranga for another great addition to the cover recreation collection.

Madripoor world with clear ink style
Engineered young and then retired

All Logan lines Lee ever drew
The art day sights he made from youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
For Wolverine I learned the truth

And those mutants with savaged faces
Back up by E’s tonal graces
Delicately commissioned
Pen and ink cover to the bone

Who clawed and said, "Come dance with me"
He murmured vague obscenities
It is what all we dreamed

Eranga don't cut no corner - he just slices and dices his commissions and serves them up on a platter, with a nice dipping sauce of ink wash. Delicious!

Always dug the congrast in this image and Eranga exhibits it nicely! The lettering being drawn right on is a big bonus. Congrats!
