DescriptionI particularly love Frank's treatment of Vikings, and Snow Giants is a favorite painting of mine! This perfect watercolor was used by one time Frazetta insider/ agent and publisher Russ Cochran as his business card art- and he knows the good stuff. Frank's rendering of these types of scenes peaked in the 70s and I am very glad to have the chance to pick this special one up...it's really a signature finished painted scene!Social/Sharing |

A truly spectacular Frazetta, Rob! I agree with you totally...Frazetta's depictions of giants and Vikings are amazing...you can almost feel the cumbersome flow of movement.

Sigh! I hope I can own a Frazetta like this when I grow up.

Great time period for Frazetta art. The stance and face show the weight that he's carrying as a wary viking. The illustration noodling is in just the right measure so the colors can play their part.

Wonderful, as only Frazetta can do. Simplistic yet complete.

Beautiful! Is it me or is there more than a passing Hal Foster influence on this piece?

Fantastic example of Frazetta's quick-hand sketch capabilities. Up close, the lines are just quick gestures, but from afar they make a completely finished piece capturing the energy of this viking as he is about to stride off the page. Wonderful find!

Wow! Gorgeous Frank Frazetta watercolor of a Viking. What a fabulous drawing but so simple and uncluttered. Love the way the Viking holds himself with a kind of world weariness, like he's been everywhere and seen everything and he's a little tired of it. Fabulous pick-up, congrats.
