Description

JK Woodward has put out some of the most stunning Star Trek covers in recent history. His painted work here puts me in the mind of what Dave Dorman did on Star Wars covers in the 90's.

Coming into NYCC this year he put up a small advance list for the show and I knew I needed to get something done. Strangely not many artists will take on the Enterprise I've found over the years as a commission request. JK not only did but went above an beyond.

I shared with him my love of the original Romulan Bird of Prey from ToS and how overjoyed I was seeing the magic in Strange New Worlds and the update on both classic ships. He ran with this and pulled on the strings from the Season 1 Finale, not only giving us a beautiful shot of that Bird of Prey, but also bringing in Kirk's ship the USS Farragut along with Pike's Enterprise!

I'd put on that James Horner soundtrack from Wrath of Khan and get into the focused submarine mode to look over all the detail in this painting!
